Hi Nathan,

I don't know you so this us a little strange but I taught English at Blue Tassel about three years ago now for six months and I taught children from 8-13 do you probably teach some if the same children. Looking at your pictures brought back so many memories. Have you found the noodle place in the little town opposite? Amazing. Dumplings... Amazing! I winder if it's changed at all?! Very odd to think you are there with a whole set of people experiencing the same. However, I don't ever remember getting up at 6.30!

I am a primary teacher in England now and was looking for a number to contact someone about letter writing from my class to a Chinese one, do you think they'd be interested?

Happy New Year!

Granted the sample size is small, I notice all of the photographed "tree" decorations are basically perfect, smooth cones. Did the student tree share this elegant geometry?

I have this image of the guy planning the decor saying things like "and make sure we have plenty of decorative Christmas cones" over his shoulder on the way out the door.

Thanks hun! Most days I still can't believe I'm here. Everything is so different, but so good. I wish you could be here taking in all the awe-inspiring sites! It is always strange to think of the history this place has compared to our home.

The adventure continues! Thanks for the pictures dude. I hope China is still as exhilarating, and you still have that crazy feeling of "whoa, I am in another country, the subtle differences are making my senses buzz" - I say this because looking at your pictures I can almost feel it seeping through! Stay cool my friend.

With some help from Bucky I finally can send you a note. It has been fun and most interesting reading about your adventures and looking at the pic's (they are great). I hope you can keep this up for the whole year. I think I need to get a good map of China so I can understand just where you are. Or maybe I just need to get with Google maps.
Mike (and kids) are coming home for Christmas and should be here for 10 days, so the olde phart is happy as is the Grandma.
That's all for now.
Take care Nate.
luv ya
